I had a fantastic week at Melbourne. Spent 4 days at Vic Textiles doing a Judy Niemeyer Certified workshop. I had the best time and left with so much crammed in to my tiny little mind, (luckily I took lots of notes) .Plus Judy's information booklets are very easy to understand and follow.
We had 4 days to make the "Glacier Star",  plus learn how to teach it in our own workshops.
Doing the certified class gives me the rights to now teach it my self. You wont  get this pattern from any one but a certified shop or teacher. Peter Taylor's Sewing centre should have the patterns and fabric in stock any time soon, plus lots more of Judy's patterns. Next year 2013 I will be teaching lots of Judy's patterns.
We will start with the table runners" and yes, beginners will be able to handle these patterns. So I hope to see you all in my classes.
I have all my units made, I just have to put it all together now.
All busy in class. Vic Textiles had a stunning set up for us. A big ''Thank you" to all the staff  at Vic textiles for looking after us so well.
  Judy and I.
I can't wait for Judy to come back to Australia so I can go to the next workshop.

After the workshop, waiting 2 hours for a taxi & finding my way around the train stations, I finaly got out to Castlemaine to have a few days with my lovely friends Sally & Pat. Didn't see much of Pat because he had to go in to hospital for a small op. (Hopefully he is figthing fit & ready to go now)
Sally & I had a great time. We did  over most of the Op-shops, second hand & antique shops.

This house was down the road from Castlemaine & it was unreal, I loved all the Art work he had every where around his yard. There was so much to look at. Metal art, wood, sticks, wire & lots of old stuff. If you are ever down that way I recommend you go to have a look.
Just a few flowers I liked. Looked so pretty.

Once I got back home I had time to give the house a quick clean and then Mum & Doug's mum, Jean, arrived. Mum has come up for the craft fair.  That will be a big week end. I even have a few things to sell this year. Had better go and get busy.

Time For Blocks

My friend Bev invited me around for a play date. She had a few blocks to cut out and thought I'd like to help her or cut a few out for myself. In the end I didn't have the right fabric, so I just watched and did a lot of taking. Once I got home I pulled out all my fabric. Finding the right ones to make my block took a little while. It all went together so well that I made a 2nd one Sorry no photo of that one. Will have to go over to play with Bev more often, she got me inspired to do a heap of other blocks. Working on a new idea for a beginners quilt with mixed size blocks.

The Cat in the Hat....... I just loved Dr Seuss books when I was a kid. Megan was pretty keen on them too but Doug hated them. When it was time for bed time story's they were one book he would not read to her. Didn't like all the rhyming, drove him mad. Funny because thats what I liked.
The fabric has been out for a while but I didn't really know what to do with it.
A few weeks ago I made a quilt for a class where we had a panel that I cut up and added borders to each  of the blocks and then put them back together. I used that same idea with this Cat in the Hat panel.
Made this little quilt for Jack. He should arrive in this world any day soon.

The geese have grown heaps. In this photo they still have baby feathers, but now there all gone. All they do is eat and poo. Every day we have a big mess to clean up, Which I had better go and do. Sewing girls will be here tomorrow so I can't have then wading through geese poo.
