Helen's home Exhibition

I've just had 3 wonderful days in Brisbane. Went down for the Stitches & Craft show. I met up with Sylvia, Helen, Judy & Janette. There was so much to see & do. Also caught up with Leone. She is still a very busy lady.
While looking at all the quilts I ran into Bev. We both had quilts on display at the quilt show.

This is the quilt I made for Terri, my niece. Her 21st quilt. Terri designed the applique as a tattoo originally but we decided to make into a quilt, this way its something we both designed and enjoy. This is the first quilt I have on display in the show.

This is a close up of the quilting. Took me weeks to quilt this quilt but it's finally done.

The 2nd quilt I have on display in the show.

This is a close up of Bev's quilt. You will have to go to her blog to get a better look at it. It's a lovely quilt and she has done so much quilting on it. If I knew how to make a link I would as I'm very impressed and you REALLY should have a look at it.

The red and white quilts on display. And guess what - our quilt is front and bottom centre. With the mistake and all.

All of us out to lunch before we have our second go at the shops and another look at the quilts.

We said goodbye Bev and then we all headed off the Helen's at Bribie Island for the next few days.
After a lovely day of Helen driving us all over the place, from the Glass House Mountains to Montville checking out every patchwork shop we could find along the way, it was back home to Helen's to relax and have a drink...or two. Plus we had show and tell.
Sylvia made this lovely quilt for Judy. Many years ago Judy let Sylvia raid her fabric stash and Sylvia has never forgotten her generosity, so as a thank you gift she made Judy this quilt.

Then we had show and tell with all of Helen's quilts. Most of them are ready to be quilted, a few are finished and a couple are almost done.

This is one we all made our own versions of a few years ago. Everyone's quilt looks completely different. Helen chose to do hand applique on hers.

This is another hand worked quilt.

This one is for one of her lovely granddaughters.

This is another quilt that we have all made our own versions of. Helen's done hand applique again on this one. ( I even did mine by hand.)
Helen is still working on this one, she does lovely hand work.

Just a close up of her hand quilting.

The second quilt she has been working on. She hand quilted it over the winter.

And finally this is a hand applique AND hand pieced blocks that Helen had been working on.

Well now that I'm home I'd better get busy and finish a few mine that need doing.

More Wedge cushions

We had another class making the wedge cushions. The tassel's looks really good around this cushion

Ula was very impressed with her self. All finished in one day. She done a happy dance at the end of the class & I got a lovely big hug.
Cute small kids quilt. This is the class for next month.
On Wednesday we had sewing at Evol's .   Bev, Daph, Evol & I.
We were all very busy making a quilt to be given away. Each month one of us gets the job to pick a quilt to make & the rest of us are there to help put it together, then Evol gets to give them away.
This is the start of the next quilt.
Well its time for bed. Big day tomorrow, I go off to Brisban for the quilt show.

Spring Colour

Walking around the garden and you see colour every were. All the flowers are out and looking so pretty. It sure to put a spring in your step and creative ideas in your mind.

The happy family out and about. Dad still hasn't come home. (I really hope he is down on the river)
We now have 7 baby's, so cute. But does any one know how to tell the sex of a gosling ?
My brother is going to take 3 but he would like 2 girls and 1 boy. I think it will just be pot luck with what ever he gets.

Second class with the Wedge ruler. More fabulous cushions were made. Carol showing of her cushion, she said a 2nd one is on the way.
Lyn hiding behind her almost finished cushion. This is going to be a extra large pillow for the CAT to sleep on. (inside joke)
And Lauraine with her stunning master piece. All the girls got their cushions made in the day and they are all lovely.
Now I had better get busy and Start on a new quilt, Or quilt one from the pile or finish a UFO. Choices, What to do.

A Wedge Ruler is a wonderfull thing

Few weeks ago I had a class at Peter's with the wedge ruler. One of the girls made 2 table runners & the rest of the class made cushions. Large floor cushions.
They were all lovely. I think all the cushions would very nice in my house.
We had one lady that was in Emerald for a few weeks work, that popped in to join the class. She had never done anything like this before.
She made the mistake of showing her family the stunning cushion she made & now she has orders for a lot more.

Hip Hip Hooray.... I have finely finished Terri's 21th quilt. Boy!!!! What a bloody long job that was, I didn't think I was ever going to get to the end of the quilting.
Terri had a very quick look  & then it was all packed up to be sent of to the QLD Quilt show. I will show you a better photo once I get it back (or when Terri finely receives  it)

I had a lovely surprise in the mail. My wonderful friend Lorraine send me her doillies.  She said  she made some & some were made by Lorraine's mum. That makes them extra special.
Just have to think of something creative to made with them now.

On Sunday Bev drove Evol, Sally, & I out to Barcaldine to the "Infinite Horizons"  Exhibition of red & white quilts. It was a great display, If you get a chance to see it, make sure you go. They will be on show at the QLD quilt show.
Evol busy reading the story for each quilt.
The Barcaldine Lady's always put on a stunning show, lots to eat & even more to see. Plus its great to catch up with evey one

One of the quilts Bev, Evol & I made. We sure got a surprise when we saw the quilt hanging. What... I don't believe it, look again. Yes, we had forgotten to quilt 5 of the triangles.
Well, what could you do but laugh, after we picked our self up from the shock that is.( Still can't believe we done that)
