Colour and Diamonds

From all the fabric I picked out last week I cut out diamonds. Small, medium and large. Then the fun started. Playing with them on the design wall. From the design wall to the sewing machine. After quite a few changes and a bit of unpicking this is the quilt I come up with. Still have a small boarder to add.

From all the fabric this is all I had left over. It is a wonderful feeling to use up a lot of old fabric from your stash.

On Tuesday night I went off to a lecture on colour by Kaffe. What a great night. Kaffe had so much to show and tell us. He has a wonderful way of putting colours together.

On Wednesday it was off to a class with Kaffe and Brandon to make the Shadow Pinwheel quilt from Kaffe's Quilt Grandeur book. I had the best day. Both Kaffe and Brandon are so clever with colour. I got lots of great tips and hints from this class.

Looking back the other way. Every ones quilts colour story's were so different. It was good to see what each person come up with.

Brandon me and Kaffe.

After the colour lecture my friend Jan and I went out for tea at the Turkish Place. Once we walked in the door the place was full of colour and patterns. It all fit in so well with the lecture we had been too. Plus the food was delicious. Great end to the night.

Wounderful colours of Parrots

We had a few days at my mums and each morning the King Parrots would entertain us. They would amuse us for hours. The colours of the parrots are beautiful.

On our way home we went around by Bingara. Stopped and had a walk around the main street, if you looked up at all the shop front ceiling they were all old pressed tin. Just stunning. Great ideas for quilting.

Made a second "Circle Play" quilt. This time the fabrics are all greens and greys. I now have to find a out side boarder, any ideas ?

I have picked the fabrics for my next quilt. Brown, orange, yellow and red mostly. I spent the day cutting out different size diamonds. Now it's time to hit the design wall and try and put it all together like the picture I have in my head. You offend get a wonderful surprise at the end.

The Design is coming along, its all fitting together better then I pictured.
The colours are fun to work with. I seem to work in colour story for a few months them I move on to the next, helps to make my quilt life more exciting I think.

Down the road from P and R house is a flower farm. Each time I drive by I think to my self I will have to stop one day and check it out.... Well I finely called in and got two bunches of beautiful flowers.

Time to go, I had better go and do a bit more on my Diamond quilt.
I have a busy week ahead. I am of to a work shop and lecture with Kaffe. The workshop is being put on by Precious Times. Playing with all that wonderful colour, I can't wait.
