Dog Sitting

What a great start to the year. I have had the best month at the sunshine coast dog and house sitting for my niece Terri and her husband Brody.
Had no idea of what sewing to take with me or how much I would get done.
But I really had to finish the hexagon quilt I started back when Bev and I had the shop. That was box number 1. Then I found 3 more boxes of cut out or part done blocks, so they where next to go. Two big boxes of fabric for just in case, My machines ,all the tools you think you may need and there was still room in the car and I couldn't have that so in went a bit more fabric and one small table runner kit. All set for sewing now.

The first quilt top finished was the Hexagon Quilt.

2nd quilt. The strip blocks I made with the Crows Nest girls. I'm pleased with the finished quilt.

                                                             Dime was a great help

3rd quilt was a Eye Spy. I have made this quilt a few times as 21st gifts for the boys in the family. Enough left over hexagons to make one more.

4th quilt. Still not finished. I have to work out the edge. I had lots of shapes cut. (mostly left overs from other quilts) And the box was getting a little full so it was play time on the design wall to work out what to do with them. I had lots of fun with this quilt.

One of the best thing about being at the Sunshine coast was meeting up with friends. Got to spend a few days with Laurene. We got lots of stitching done. First few days we made 2 purses each.

Then Laurene started my "Blue Diamond" quilt and I got busy on the small table runner.

5th quilt finished was the table runner.

6th quilt. Sorry the photo is upside down. (way to hard to fix now) Last quilt top for the month, my "Cat in the Hat" quilt

My three sewing companions for the last month. Big, bigger and small.

This is my last day at the sunshine coast. Time to pack the car back up. Four empty boxes and six projects made. You would think with all that sewing I would have a every light load going home but it just doesn't work that way. Did not put much of a hole in the fabric at all. (I'm starting you believe my friend Jan when she said that the fabric has sex and doubles over night).
Terri and Brody will be home to night.  Cant wait to hear all about there trip.
Will be sad to say bye to my three sewing buddies.
